MasterDither is a professional mastering grade final dither. Dithering adds an extremely low level of random noise to audio in order to prevent quantization error distortion during bit depth reduction. Typically, you will want to use a dither as the final processing step prior to bit depth reduction during a final master bounce. So why did we make masterDither? While most recording software includes some sort of dither plugin, many of the bundled solutions are quite dated, and don’t take advantage of some of the latest techniques for dither noise shaping. Many of our users have requested that we make a dither, so masterDither is the result of talking to our users about what they look for in a good dither, and engineering something that can be an ideal final dithering stage for any professional audio mastering application.

The Wall is is a brick wall limiter designed with one thing in mind: Make your mixes loud without screwing up your mix. No matter what side of the loudness wars you’ve decided to plant yourself on, the need to make mixes loud for clients isn’t going away any time soon. Sending your clients home with a mix that is just as loud as the professional mixes they are used to hearing is an important part of any mixing engineer’s job. But nothing drives me more insane than listening to all my hard work turn to garbage when pushing the mix loud. That’s why we made this plugin. We wanted a mastering limiter that lets you push your mixes loud and still keep the punch in your drums and keep your tonality intact.

There are many Limiters out there, and one of the things that we learned while making this is that a good limiting algorithm is complicated. There are tons of steps involved in transparently limiting music and most of the parameters are completely non-intuitive. When I’m mastering my music, I don’t want to think about release and attack times, lookahead times, window shapes, multiband crossover frequencies, etc. but I want to dial in the limiter to match the music I’m sending it.

So we took over 30 parameters and combined them into a very simple and intuitive “Flavor” control. It really couldn’t be easier to use. You set your level, then adjust the flavor until it sounds good with your song. And if that’s not enough, The Wall comes with 3 completely different limiting algorithms that you can switch through very quickly. It’s just so easy to use.

Scanner Vibrato is a virtual effect plug-in that aims to recreate the scanner-vibrato effect from a well-known tonewheel organ.

History:
The original scanner-vibrato was developed in the 1940s, and was an analog, electromechanical device, consisting of an analog delay line and a mechanical rotor (“scanner”). Classic DX10 based FM Synth and JX10 Analog Synth with a huge variety of sounds from classic pianos and keyboards to space age pads. In keeping with a long term Tracktion tradition the MDA synths are back! Since T1 Tracktion came bundled with the incredibly good value MDA synth pack. We’ve now taken the great engine behind those synths, improved them, and given them a new interface for easier control and visualisation. The FM Synth is based on the MDA DX10 and can produce a diverse array of sounds. From classic plucked and percussive instruments such as pianos, guitars and bells to extreme modulated intergalactic growling bass. It would be very easy to create an entire song using this synth alone!

The Analog Synth is based on the classic MDA JX10 subtractive synthesiser. We’ve simplified the controls and added two envelope editors to invigorate this beast! Like the FM Synth, this has a wide sound range range but boasts some additional features like classic mono glide. Great for sub bass and FX (including wind and helicopters!), but perhaps where this synth really shines is in it’s mega thick sync leads.

Both synths have a wide variety of presets included but with the sheer range of sounds capable here don’t be surprised if you find yourself tweaking until the sun comes up! A must have pair of synths for any Tracktion user!
