The latest version of our powerful, single-screen music recording app is the largest upgrade we’ve ever offered. While maintaining the simplicity and immediacy of earlier versions, T7 provides a more dynamic interface with new features designed to save time and screen space. Innovative editing tools provide new ways to create, organize and manipulate audio, MIDI and step clips while new plugin search and automation features boost creativity and speed work flow.

Tracktion was designed to be as transparent and intuitive to the user as possible. Track object controls and parameters are context-sensitive; effects, MIDI instruments and other software objects can be added to tracks or even applied directly to individual audio and MIDI clips using a drag-and-drop system of filters. Complex chains of filters can be created, stored and recalled for later use as rack effects, which can be thought of as analogous to a saved channel strip setting in a traditional DAW/sequencer.

Tracktion represents a move away from the modal dialog boxes, multiple menus and cluttered windows common to most legacy MIDI sequencers and Digital Audio Workstations, in favour of a streamlined, single-screen approach that presents the user only with the options they need for the task they are currently doing, such as editing audio, adjusting MIDI automation parameters, effects settings, etc. Both also are notable for the use of a more abstract visual style that does not attempt to visually replicate “real world” recording equipment or effects boxes.

Tracktion 7
Introduced in 2002 by Julian Storer, the Tracktion DAW represented a new approach by breaking from the traditional recording studio workflow. It empowered musicians of any caliber to produce multi-track recordings without previous studio or DAW experience and steadily gained a large user base. While many Tracktion breakthroughs are now being adopted by competing applications, T7 elevates the state of the art once again with the most comprehensive upgrade in the platform’s history.

“With T7, we’ve taken the Tracktion paradigm a lot further,” explained Lead Developer, Dave Rowland. “In addition to a great looking, more dynamic user interface, there are a lot of practical improvements designed to boost productivity. However, I’m most excited about the new tools for manipulating clips and plugins. With unique features like these, T7 will take users in new directions.”

One of T7’s creative-oriented introductions, Clip Layer Effects (Pat. Pend.), allows complete control of sound design at the clip level. Another new feature, Multi-Browser Sync, provides the ability to preview many files together, from multiple browsers, in sync with the edit. For plugins (VST and AU), there is a new visual selector to speed the sorting process and new LFO Generators to quickly modulate any plugin parameter. Even the MARKETPLACE interaction has been improved making it easy to shop for new virtual instruments and effects without leaving the T7 app environment.

The solo oboe is 7GB in size as a result of its sheer richness in quality content, so keep in mind you will need at LEAST 15/16GB of space to download the rars, and then extract them. There are six mic positions, including LDC, SDC and Ribbon spots so you can even choose your type of spot mic, and really control the character of the recorded sound, as well as an orchestral spot pair, a stage position and a room position.

You are even able to control the level/volume of the key sounds/mechanics of the oboe, and the sound of the musician pressing the keys will also be louder depending on how hard you press the key on your MIDI keyboard (velocity).

The AE600 is the next generation of active equalization. New and unique EQ modes, independent control of fixed and active EQ bands, and an ultra low latency algorithm make the AE600 the perfect solution for any audio production. Every fixed and active band in the AE600 has its own gain, frequency, Q, and mode controls. EQ mode options include parametric, proportional Q parametric, 5x Q parametric, Baxandall shelving EQ, vintage styled EQ, X-style shelving EQ, Baxandall shelving EQ plus filtering, and high and low pass filtering. All bands are completely overlapping and can use the input signal or selected side chain inputs to trigger the active EQ response. The active EQ bands can be controlled via the response plot itself, or from the text readouts above and below the response plot.

The AE600’s active EQ response is determined by each band’s threshold, attack and release settings. Additionally, a ratio control determines input signal level sensitivity to further articulate how the active EQ will reach maximum active equalization – a feature unique to the AE600 (and AE400) active equalizers by McDSP.

Peak signal text readouts for each active EQ band’s key signal allow quick setup of each band’s active EQ threshold, and are located underneath band dynamics plots. Input and Output controls, individual band bypass, band control linking, and band key signal monitoring round out the features of the AE600.

Flexible audio routing

Snapshot automation
LiveProfessor has extensive snapshot automation. Choose between snapshots that recall individual plugins or global snapshots that recall the entire state of a project. Both types have filters that let you choose which functions should be recalled. This allows you to recall only some settings without changing parameters you need to tweak manually during the performance.

Cue lists
The cue list helps you change LiveProfessor’s settings during a performance. A cue list is made up of cues containing one or more Actions. Examples of actions are recalling a snapshot, changing the audio patch, sending midi messages, changing tempo, etc. Typically you have one or more cues pr. Song and step thru the list during the show to recall the right settings for each song.

Midi Modifiers
Each plugin has a set of powerful Midi Modifiers. These are especially useful for keyboard players, with functions such as transpose, key-zone and filter.

Hardware controllers
LiveProfessor has an extensive system for using hardware controllers to control plugin parameters and program functions. We have tried to make the system as flexible as possible, but at the same time making it quick and easy to use. In addition each control can be tweaked to respond just the way you like. Midi clock and MIDI show control The cue lists can be controlled usingMIDI show control enabling you to control LiveProfessor from an external device. For example you could trigger the cue list from the snapshot list of a digital mixer or a show control systems such as Qlab.

Library
The library lets you save and organize snapshots or other pieces of a setup and re-use them in later projects.

Workspaces
The window layout can be saved and recalled either manually, in a cue or as part of a snapshot.

Marie Ork is a voice bank for the free Plogue Alter/Ego synthesizer. She was created from recordings of a female death metal vocalist, but is capable of much more than just death metal growls. She was an entry in the 2016 KVR Developer Challenge. She can be used as a virtual death metal vocalist, a source of monster voices for game and film audio, and a synthesizer which generates strange textures. Her voice bank contains two voices: growl (noisy unpitched vocal) and space (capable of producing a discernible pitch, just plain weird). All the recordings were of English phonetics, but Japanese is also supported. More than 20 presets are included ranging from death metal to chopped vocals.
